On Friday I had an assessor from Tafe come out to where I do placement to assess my competency in a childcare situation and also my bookwork. I'm happy to say I was deemed competent and apart from a few issues regarding my bookwork(it's a bit tricky trying to do a running record of a child under the age of 2 for 10 minutes, when they flit from one thing to another in the space of 5 seconds and you've got to write exactly how they moved, and then plan a program for them based on those observations, involving a specific activity to enhance their development)I'm flying along.
It seems I have a natural confidence when dealing with the kids in care, funny about that. I've got 3 more weeks in the babies room in which time all my bookwork has to be completed before our teacher can sign it off and send us up to the next room. I'll have to do an extra week or two in the babies room though as the teacher has gone on holidays till the middle of June, but I don't mind the extra time.
Hmm what else has been happening. Lots of dancing practice for Liv and Beala leading up to the South Street competition next weekend in Ballarat, this will be Liv's first "big" comp, she's only done a couple of small ones so far.
Jade and Jason are settling into their new home, although renovations have slowed somewhat since they got the new computer, seems Jade has a problem getting Jason to stop playing "Plant Tycoon".
