I'm a lazy cow

Yeah well those photo's I was posting 2 months ago are still on the to do list, but it will have to wait as we're shaped at the moment, god I hate that.

Well I've finally finished my course, which makes me a trained child care worker, pretty boring title really and infact it's not that prestigous in the slightest, which is why I've decided to go back to study next year and do my Diploma. As if I didn't whinge and whine about all the study I had to do this year, I've decided I haven't punished myself enough and should do more. But at least then I'll actually be "qualified" as something.

Not much else to report here, the last month or so has been taken up with finishing my assignments, completing my level 2 first aid and Anaphylaxis training, interspersed with some casual work at the child care centre and the kids before and after school care.

I've gone from 40 years of doing nothing, to being flat out lol.

That's it for now.

Darwin trip 2009

Just got back from 4 days in sunny Darwin, to be greeted by cold an wet weather once home again, that sucks.

Flew out at 9:40pm on Wednesday night, arrived sometime after 1am on Thursday morning, picked up at the airport by Pat and Lionel, went back to the caravan they were staying at, to wait for the next lot of relatives to fly in. Laura and Ian arrived at around 3am, Lionel picked them up and they too came back to the caravan, it was starting to get a bit cosy in there by this stage with 7 adults trying to have a sleep, before the next lot of relo's arrived. Hadn't heard from the next 3 by 6:30am and getting a tad concerned they were lost somewhere in the wilderness of the N.T, rang them only to be reassured they were on their way, sadly the taxi driver who had possibly just arrived off the boat the day before, had no idea where he was or meant to be headed. With some help of directions(and I call them directions very loosely) they managed to find the park, Lionel drove up to the front gate to pick them up, by now we had 10 adults in a 4 berth caravan, it was definitely cosy. No time for more sleeping, it was time to start transporting us all to the shopping centre around the corner from my parents, so we could assemble and walk down to surprise Mum for breakfast.

I tell you what, it's stressful standing around a shoppping centre at that time of the morning, when you know it's possible she's going to turn up at any stage to get the paper.

Unfortunately our huge surprise was slightly foiled by the fact she saw us all traipsing through the gates, although she was left speechless and shaking when we all walked in the door to wish her a happy 60th Birthday.

The next couple of days we spent relaxing and doing a couple of touristy things, like Crocosaurus Cove, Mindal market and dinner down by the wharf. I didn't get a lot of pics and what I do have are all of family members(which I'll upload shortly)

And now for our super exciting news this week

This warrants it's own special post, not just thrown into the other one.

I'm extremely excited to announce that Jade and Jason got engaged on Tuesday night, which was their 5th anniversary of being together.

Not sure when the wedding will be, or the engagement party, although she said something this morning about the party being later this year as they have to finish the house first, why I don't know, can't believe they'd let an unfinished renovation get in the way of a good party. And the wedding will be during the warmer months, which ever year it is they decide on.

I'm so slack

I just knew I'd be crap at this blogging business, I either think I have nothing of interest to say, or keep telling myself I'll do it tomorrow and not do it.

Ok so what's been happening for the last 6 weeks or however long it is since I last posted:

The guinea pigs died
I've been sick on and off for the last 8 weeks with a stupid cold, it starts to get better and then it'll hit me again like a bus has run over me, it's affected my voice for some reason, so I think I have this sexy husky rasp when I speak, it probably sounds like a croaky old grandma's instead though, knowing my luck.

The kids are almost finished their two weeks of school holidays, I've sent them off to vacation care/day care today, so I can have a break. Liv went for a lovely 4 day holiday to Phillip Island with Aunty Pat, Uncle Lionel and Bridget(that's my cousins daughter, for those that don't know), ahh it was bliss till she walked back in the door again, especially as Chris is away as well.

Well the chicken coop still isn't finished, there's some lazy sod who lives here and hasn't gotten off his bum to do it, mind you, you won't catch me standing outside in the cold for too long either, might freeze my fingers and then I can't type. My Welsummers still aren't laying, lucky for them I'm a softy and they're such gorgeous birds or they'd get the chop.

I'm off to Warrnambool on the weekend to pick Chris up, get to go on my own and stay overnight at a girlfriends place, now that will be nice.

Liv and the other one who shall not be named(shhhh, I haven't really put her photo on here, or she'll kill me).

Liv got 4th place in her learners Irish Jig, and as you can tell by the grin on the face she was mighty impressed.

My new chicken coop

Well the new coop is in the process of being made...a bloody long process, I've had the two new chickens since January and the coop still isn't finished, but this is what we've got so far.
